Best-of-three series

Best-of-three trivia. Keep the room.

A best-of-three trivia series keeps the same room and players for up to three matches. A unique match winner earns a series win, and two series wins end the series early. Drawn matches consume one match but award no series win. After three matches, tied win totals are reported as a series draw.

How do I start?

  1. Keep best of three selected on setup and choose Casual, Strategy or Rivalry.
  2. Create the room, invite players, and all mark Ready.
  3. Play the match and confirm Next before results.
  4. Choose a theme for the same-room rematch and follow the visible match number and series standings.

What happens when a series match is tied?

Equal scores share the match result. A drawn match uses one of the three matches but adds no series win. If the final win totals are equal, the series ends in a draw without a hidden tiebreak.

Do friends need a new code for a rematch?

No. A real rematch keeps the same room and participants. The host can select a new theme before starting; Rivalry also rotates the first category chooser.

House rules

  • Up to 8 players per room.
  • A surprise mix of formats. Most questions use typed answers, with multiple choice mixed in. Everyone gets the same format. Type a recognized alternative or a close spelling; short answers and exact numbers need precision. Any numeric tolerance is stated on that question.
  • Correct = 100 points, plus a speed bonus: +10 within 5 seconds, +5 within 10, +0 after that.
  • Wrong, pass or timeout = 0. Untimed rooms have no clock and no speed bonus.
  • Bold Answer (Strategy, once per match): +50 extra when correct, −50 when wrong. Passes and timeouts remain zero; activating consumes the token.
  • 15 seconds to answer. All answers lock on submission. After each reveal, everyone presses Next before the room moves on; there is no automatic advance. Expect roughly 2 minutes for five questions or 4 for ten, plus any time spent reviewing answers.
